I'm looking for the instructions to reset my Envy 5052 printer which is not starting-up correctly. It gets stuck at two dots on the HP Logo Screen. I have downloaded the firmware, but the printer cannot connect via wifi or USB in order to reload it. Because it is not completing the start-up, it also does not make it to the point that the Settings menu is available to select a reset to factory defaults. Unplugging the power for 60-seconds is also ineffective. Any help would be appreciated!

Hi @Pip36,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
To reset an HP Envy 5052 printer, you can follow these steps.
Please note that the steps may vary slightly depending on the specific model or firmware version of your printer. Additionally, resetting your printer will erase any custom settings and preferences you have set, so make sure to back up any important configurations before proceeding.
Power off the printer: Ensure the printer is turned on, and if it's currently printing, wait for it to finish the task and then turn it off.
Disconnect the power cord: Unplug the power cord from the back of the printer. Also, remove the power cord from the wall outlet or power strip.
Wait for a few seconds: Allow the printer to sit without power for about 30 seconds to 1 minute. This helps clear any residual power from the printer's components.
Reconnect the power cord: Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet or power strip.
Reconnect the power cord to the printer: Connect the power cord to the back of the printer.
Power on the printer: Turn on the printer by pressing the power button.
Wait for initialization: The printer will go through its initialization process, which may take a few moments.
Perform a factory reset (optional): If you want to do a full factory reset, including network settings and preferences, you can do this through the printer's control panel. Keep in mind that this step is optional and will erase all custom configurations.
a. From the printer's home screen, navigate to the Setup or Settings menu (depending on the printer's display).
b. Look for the "Restore Defaults" or "Factory Reset" option.
c. Follow the on-screen instructions to confirm the reset.
After completing these steps, your HP Envy 5052 printer should be reset to its default settings. If you had any connection or setup issues, this reset might help resolve them. Remember to reconfigure any network settings and preferences according to your needs.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
