Greetings everyone, I'm new to this forum.  I've just bought a Officejet Pro 8600 from a friend and I'm at a total loss when it comes to having empty ink cartridges controlling & preventing the printing action itself, unheard of.

How can I Reset to Block Chip on HP Ink Cartridges or Disable Toner Cartridge Electronic Chips permanently or otherwise while maintaining print functionality?  I mainly do grayscale/black docs, never color.  M & C tanks are empty and thus blocking printing access, ludicrous!!

This is what I know thus far:

HP OfficeJet Pro

Follow the steps outlined below,

  1. Access “Setup” from the printer’s LCD display
  2. Choose “Preferences”
  3. Click on “Store Anonymous Usage Information”
  4. And then switch it off

Problem; I don't see   “Store Anonymous Usage Information” anywhere?  Please advise when you can, thank you much...

Hi,

You can't, it's not possible. The printer will stop if any ink cartridge is empty, missing, depleted, damaged.
