Hi @Capt27
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.
The error message "out of bounds page reference limit is 1" on your HP Envy 5530 printer typically suggests a firmware or software issue caused during or after clearing a paper jam.
Here are steps to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:
1. Power Reset the Printer
Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
Wait at least 60 seconds to allow the system to fully reset.
Plug the printer back in and power it on. Sometimes this clears minor glitches.
2. Check for Residual Paper
Open all accessible areas of the printer (input/output trays, paper path, etc.).
Inspect for any small scraps of paper or obstructions left behind from the jam and remove them.
Ensure the paper path is completely clear before closing the printer.
3. Update Printer Firmware
HP regularly releases new firmware versions for printer enhancements, app updates, or issue fixes. Update the firmware regularly to get the most out of your printer.
Click on the link below for instructions on how to update the firmware of your printer.

4. Reinstall Printer Drivers
Uninstall the current printer drivers on your computer:
On Windows: Go to Settings > Devices > Printers & Scanners, select your HP Envy 5530, and click Remove device.
On macOS: Go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners, select the printer, and click the minus (-) button.
Download and reinstall the latest drivers from the HP Support website. Official HP® Drivers and Software Download | HP® Support
5. Reset Printing Preferences
Go to your printer settings on your computer:
On Windows: Open Control Panel > Devices and Printers. Right-click your printer, select Printer Properties, and reset the preferences to default.
On macOS: Go to Printers & Scanners, select your printer, and reconfigure the print settings to default.
6. Perform a Hard Reset
Restore the printer to factory settings:
On the printer’s control panel, go to Settings > Tools > Restore Defaults.
Confirm the reset and reconfigure the printer’s network and other settings after restarting.
7. Test with Another Document
After performing the steps, try printing a simple document (like a one-page Word file or PDF) to test whether the issue is resolved.
