Hi @OnyaitC

Welcome to the HP support community.

It sounds like you're facing alignment issues with the cartridges in your HP LaserJet 400 Color M451nw. Here are some steps you can take to resolve this:

1. Remove and Reinstall the Cartridges

  1. Turn off the printer and unplug it.
  2. Open the front cover to access the toner cartridges.
  3. Carefully remove the Cyan and Magenta cartridges.
  4. Check for any obstructions or damage in the cartridge slots.
  5. Reinstall the cartridges, ensuring they are seated securely and click into place.

2. Check for Proper Orientation

Make sure that the cartridges are installed in the correct positions:

  • Cyan (CE411A) should be in the position marked for Cyan.
  • Magenta (CE413A) should be in the position marked for Magenta.

3. Clean the Cartridge Contacts

  1. Use a lint-free cloth or a soft, dry cloth to gently clean the gold contact points on the cartridges and the corresponding contacts inside the printer.
  2. This can help improve the connection between the cartridges and the printer.

4. Perform a Cartridge Alignment

  1. Turn the printer back on.
  2. Print a configuration page to check the status of the cartridges:
    • Go to the printer's control panel.
    • Select Administration > Print Configuration Page.
  3. After printing, you may see an option for Align Cartridges in the menu. Follow the prompts to align them.

5. Update Firmware

Ensure your printer's firmware is up to date. You can check the HP website for the latest firmware updates for your printer model.

6. Check for Error Messages

If the printer displays any specific error codes or messages, make a note of them. This information can be helpful for further troubleshooting.

7. Reset the Printer

As a last resort, you can try resetting the printer to its factory settings. This can sometimes resolve persistent issues:
