Ok, so I'm have the problem where the printer doesn't seem to see that there is photo paper loaded.

I've watched both videos, used the HP photo paper that came with, changed the print settings to photo and 4x6, had the screen actually displaying that the phone paper was in there like the Forum response showed and still when I send the pic the printer stops and gives the Out of Paper error.  I've been doing this for easily 30 minutes trying different things over and over....it should not be this hard.  Open to new suggestion, I have tried all on the conversation string.  Thanks

I would like to take a moment to thank you for posting on the HP Support Forums. I understand that you have an HP Officejet 5746 e-All-in-One Printer and it doesn't recognize the paper that's loaded in it. You have even tried changing the print settings, I appreciate the steps you have performed and have certainly done a good job.

I recommend you to perform the below steps to isolate the issue and arrive at a solution:

Please uninstall the printer drivers and then reinstall them again. To uninstall printer drivers please follow steps from this link: http://hp.care/2gPcp70

Later, please download and install the drivers from this link: http://hp.care/2gPbZxC

I sincerely hope this helps. Keep me posted about the results. Good luck! 🙂

Uninstalled and reinstalled.  Not what I wanted to spend time doing but it worked!  First photo printed!  Thank-you

I have an officejet 5740 all-in-one. Suddenly the printer is not recognizing the paper. Keeps saying out of paper. I reloaded the paper. I turned off the power and restarted. This is a fairly new printer. Very frustrating.

Working with a Dell /microsoft computer.
