I recently purchased a new computer and now when I try to print on my HP ENVY 64554 printer I get a message requiring me to save the file. After saving it, I still get the same message again. How can I eliminate this step and print directly without saving the file?

Hi @Fealsamh6783,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like your new computer is defaulting to “Print the file” instead of your actual HP ENVY 6455e printer. This causes the “Save” dialog to appear instead of sending the document to the printer.
If you are using Windows 10/11, try these steps. If it's a different OS, let me know so I can find more help:
- Open Control Panel:
- Press Windows key + S and type Control Panel, then open it.
- Press Windows key + S and type Control Panel, then open it.
- Go to Devices and Printers
- Click Devices and Printers (under "Hardware and Sound").
- Click Devices and Printers (under "Hardware and Sound").
- Set HP ENVY 6455e as the Default
- Find your HP ENVY 6455e printer in the list.
- Right-click on it and choose “Set as default printer”.
- A green checkmark should appear.
- Remove or Reconfigure “Microsoft Print to PDF”
- If needed, right-click on “Microsoft Print to PDF” and choose “Remove device” or just ignore it from now on.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
