HP ENVY e5530 All In One
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Received firmware update on Monday06 Aug 18, whist using printer , thereafter printer would not scan, print, or print alignment page after new cartridge inserted. Also printer would not shut down unless switched off at mains. Followed all usual processes to restablish connectivity.

I have run HP print doctor and now have print functionality but no scan. HP doctor states there is driver problem. I have been trying to access driver downloads from HP site to no avail. Having spent days trying to rectify this problem (not of my making)by looking through the multitude of information, my head is now spinning.

All want is a simple download of drivers to re-etablish the scan functionality or is the printer better scrapped.

Many thanks for any assistance. NB: I am not an advanced techie, I prefer simple plain clear English!!

I recommend you delete the driver at the root level and retry, follow the steps below:

2.) Select your HP Printer

5.) In the Devices and Printers windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose `Delete' or `Remove Device'

6.) Open up the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo.

7.) Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between "printui.exe" and "/s")

8.) Click on the "Drivers" tab

9.) Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom

10.) Select Ok

11.) Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows
