Hi, I'm using the HP Scan application on my windows 10 PC to configure "scan to compter" shortcut settings.  When a shortcut is created or an existing one changed, these updates are not reflected on the printer.  Any suggestions ? Thanks

It is my understanding that only the standard scan "templates" are available on the printer panel.

Custom shortcuts must be accessed / used in the printer software on the computer.

Thanks Dragon-Fur for your response.  Thats a real shame as it limits the flexibility in using the scanner.  Hope HP will eventually do something about this

You are welcome.

Well, the User Guide  (Page 9) does suggest that shortcuts created on the panel become part of the "collection".

It might be necessary that shortcuts that will be accessible through the printer control panel, be created on the printer (as opposed to having created custom shortcuts in the printing software and expecting them to "show up" on the printer control panel).

I do find where the Settings > Print Settings can be adjusted - that does not appear to be the method to create / access a shortcut.

I am likely missing something, though at the moment, I am not sure "what".

I'll take another look; if I find anything that appears to be useful in context, I will post back.

@ShlomiL  - I have the 8740 printer right in front of me and I cannot see how to add custom shortcuts to the printer control panel.  What am I missing?  Thanks for words of wisdom!

Hi,

Any Custom created scan shortcut is only available for scanning from the HP Scan software on the computer, I afraid that a such cannot be used to scan directly from the printer front panel.

You may customize any of the default shortcuts and save the changes, these will apply for the printer screen but not much more..

Regards,

Shlomi
