I looked at responses regarding scanning legal size documents  for other HP printers but I can't seem to apply it to this model. How to I get to the detailed page that allows me to select the page size for scanning, or auto detect? Using the document feeder it only scans a letter-size portion of the legal document.

Hi,

Scanning legal can only be performed from automatic document feeder,

when you are scanning from HP print assistant you will have an option to select the scan size or paper size , here you will have to select legal

and then try scanning and it will scan legal.
