Hi all,

I was having a problem with my printer (Blue ink wasn't working) and I did a reset.

Now when I start the printer I get this message (see picture). How can I bypass this screen to go to the settings from there?? Thanks in advance.

Hi @Donal13-10,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your printer!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

If you recently performed a reset on your HP OfficeJet Pro 8025 and are encountering the "cartridge cannot be used until enrolled to Instant Ink" message, it indicates that Instant Ink cartridges are installed and require enrollment in the Instant Ink program to be used. Follow these steps to bypass this message and access the printer settings:

Power Cycle the Printer:

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  • Wait for about 60 seconds.
  • Plug the printer back in and turn it on.

Accessing Printer Settings:

  • Allow the printer to complete its startup process.
  • When the Instant Ink message appears, try to locate a “Close” or “Cancel” option on the touchscreen. This may allow you to temporarily bypass the message and access the control panel.

Replace Instant Ink Cartridges (Temporary Solution):

  • If there's no option to bypass the message, you may need to install standard HP ink cartridges (non-Instant Ink). Standard cartridges do not require Instant Ink enrollment.
  • Remove the Instant Ink cartridges from the printer.
  • Install the replacement standard HP ink cartridges.

Access Settings to Disable Instant Ink (if applicable):

  • Once standard ink cartridges are installed and the message no longer appears, access the settings menu on the printer:
    • Press the Setup or Settings icon on the printer's control panel.
    • Navigate to HP Connected or Web Services, and ensure Web Services are turned off if you are not using them.
    • If the option is available, disable Instant Ink notifications to prevent similar messages in the future.

Enroll in HP Instant Ink:

If you wish to continue using the Instant Ink cartridges that came with the printer, you need to complete the Instant Ink enrollment process:

Visit the HP Instant Ink Website:

Follow the Enrollment Process:

  • Enroll your HP OfficeJet Pro 8025 in the Instant Ink program by entering the required information and selecting a plan that suits your needs.

Confirm the Enrollment:

  • Once enrollment is complete, follow any additional prompts to sync the printer with your Instant Ink account.

I hope this helps.
