Hi @Apk6,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP Envy Photo 7830 is frozen at the first dot during startup, this can be a frustrating issue. It sounds like you've tried various solutions without success, so let’s explore some additional troubleshooting steps to help resolve this problem. Here’s how you can try to reset or troubleshoot the issue further:
1. Power Cycle the Printer
- Press the power button to turn off the printer. If the printer is unresponsive, you might need to hold down the power button for about 10-15 seconds.
- Disconnect the power cord from the back of the printer and from the wall outlet.:
- Leave the printer unplugged for at least 60 seconds. This allows any residual power to dissipate.
Plug Back In and Restart:
- Reconnect the power cord to both the printer and the wall outlet.
- Turn on the printer and see if it starts up properly.
2. Perform a Hard Reset
Turn Off the Printer:
- If possible, turn off the printer using the power button.
- Unplug the power cord from the printer and the wall outlet.
- Open the printer’s access door and remove the ink cartridges.
- Remove any paper from the input and output trays.
- Wait for about 60 seconds, then reconnect the power cord and turn the printer back on.
- Reinsert the ink cartridges and paper after the printer has restarted.
3. Check for Firmware Updates
- Go to the HP Support website and search for your printer model.
- Check if there are any firmware updates available for your printer model. Sometimes updating the firmware can resolve startup issues.
4. Perform a Printer Self-Test:
- Some printers have a built-in self-test mode that can be activated by holding down certain buttons during startup. Refer to your printer’s manual for specific instructions on how to perform a self-test or diagnostic check.
5. Restore Factory Settings
Access Printer Menu:
- If you can access any part of the printer menu, look for an option to restore factory settings. This option is usually found under Setup or Maintenance.
Factory Reset:
- Follow the on-screen instructions to perform a factory reset
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
