Hi, I had an email from HP saying my printer wasn’t connected.

The printer says “server problem, the printer could not connect to web services. The server might be busy or temporarily unavailable. Try again later.
I keep pressing retry but it’s not working.  My WiFi has never been off and despite how long I go between uses, it’s always been connected since I got the printer a few years back.
I am NOT tech savvy. Does anyone have an “idiots guide” step by step on how to fix this please!!?
Thank you!

Hi @Danni1985,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I hear you are getting a server problem error.

Follow these easy steps to get your printer communicating again:

Step 1: Restart the Printer:

  1. Press the power button to turn off the printer.

  2. Unplug the printer's power cord from the wall or the back of the device.

  3. Wait about 60 seconds, then plug it back in and turn it on.

Step 2: Restart your WiFi Router:

  1. Find your WiFi router (the box with flashing lights that provides your internet).

  2. Unplug the power cord from the wall.

  3. Wait 15 to 30 seconds, then plug it back in.

  4. Give it a minute or two for all the lights to turn back on and stabilise.

Step 3: Reconnect the Printer to WiFi:

  1. Wait for your printer's WiFi light to go solid (usually blue). If it’s flashing or off, you need to reconnect it.

  2. If your printer has a touchscreen, go to the Setup, Network, or Wireless menu and tap Wireless Setup Wizard.

  3. Select your WiFi network name from the list and type in your WiFi password.

Step 4: Restart your Computer/Device:

  1. Turn your computer or phone completely off, wait a few seconds, and turn it back on.

I hope this will help.

Take care and have a good day.
