I reached out to support July 23rd due to an error message on my printer. They went ahead and did an ink cartridge service order to send me some non-instant ink to see if it will get the message off my printer.
I'm just wondering how long does it take to get? I swear the guy on the phone said a week but maybe I misheard him as it's been 2 weeks. The only email I've gotten is one saying the order has been created. I haven't been told it's been shipped or anything. Is there a way to check the status?
If I need to, I'll call again as I do still have the case number.

Yes, since you have an open case and you have the contact information, it makes sense to call.
"We" are not HP Support - we can request a check, but it is simply faster that you contact HP about your case.
As to the length of time - it could take this long. The entire supply chain is stretched thin and delays are possible.
That said, you need a status and you can better get that from the case support staff.
Good Luck,
