Hi @dantawn,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If you've cleared a paper jam in your HP ENVY Pro 6455 All-In-One Printer and are now encountering an E6 error that won't reset, there are a few steps you can try to resolve the issue.
Power Cycle the Printer:
- Turn off the printer.
- Unplug the power cord from the back of the printer.
- Wait for about 60 seconds.
- Plug the power cord back into the printer.
- Turn the printer back on.
Check for Remaining Paper:
- Ensure that there are no remaining bits of paper in the printer. Sometimes, even small shreds can trigger error messages.
Reset the Printer:
- Turn off the printer.
- Disconnect the power cord from the back of the printer.
- Wait for at least 60 seconds.
- Reconnect the power cord and turn the printer back on.
Update Firmware:
- Visit the official HP support website for your printer model.
- Check if there are any firmware updates available for your printer.
- If there are updates, follow the instructions provided to update the firmware.
Perform a Hard Reset:
- Turn off the printer.
- Disconnect all cables and USB devices.
- Wait for at least 10 minutes.
- Reconnect the cables and turn the printer back on.
Check for Obstructions:
- Make sure there are no foreign objects or obstructions in the paper path.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

I followed all instructions. When the printer restarted I printer the printer information using the 'i' button on the panel. It fed and printed the instructions then went immediately to an 'E6' error with all lights flashing.
There was no damage or issue printing the printer information.
Nothing would clear the error, so I repeated the instructions again. When the printer restarted I attempted to copy something, again it made a single copy, no issue and immediately again went to 'E6' and all lights flashing.
Unable to clear the code, and once again followed the supplied instructions. When the printer restarted attempted to print from my computer. It immediately went to 'E6' unable to clear.
According the HP site, there were no firmware updates available. The printer continues to be unusable, and unable to clear the 'E6' code.
Other solutions?
