PS when i exited the installation app, the final page referred to Windows 8.  I am running windows 10

Just to be sure, you have the correct drivers for Win10, you may try to uninstall the old drivers and install the printer drivers for Win10: Click here to download the Win10 drivers.

I understand that after you performed the steps from the previous post, the printer indicated that the connection was fine, so was it able to print successfully after that?

If the issue still persists after performing all of the suggested steps then you may contact our HP phone support team to explore the available service options for your printer:

HP Support can be reached by clicking on the following link:  

1. Click on this link – www.hp.com/contacthp/
2. 2) Click on “Continue as guest”.
3. 3) Enter the serial of your device.
4. 4) Select the country from the drop-down.
5. 5) Click on “Show Options”.

Fill the web-form. A case number and phone number will now populate for you.

win 10 drivers a) the link was blocked by McAfee b) from the HP site, the start up found the printer but couldnt connect.

signing up for costly help desk is not on

solution: junked the printer. v happy with my new Brother

Similar scenario here (OfficeJet 4650, and I've intentionally removed the color cartridge) - wondering if it's possible to bypass the alert message instead of seeing it every time I print?
