Printer stopped printing. It receives the document, sounds like processing and after a while it delivers a blank page. However if I use it for copy it does print

Hi @Braniff,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like there could be a few different issues causing your HP Smart Tank 7300 printer to stop printing when connected to your computer but still able to copy. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issue.
- Check Ink Levels: Make sure that your ink cartridges have sufficient ink. Low ink levels can sometimes cause printing issues, including blank pages.
- Print Head Alignment: Perform a print head alignment through your printer's settings menu. This ensures that the print head is correctly aligned and can improve print quality.
- Update Printer Drivers: Ensure that your printer drivers are up to date. Sometimes outdated drivers can cause communication problems between your computer and the printer.
- Restart Printer and Computer: Power off your printer and computer completely, then turn them back on after a minute or so. This can sometimes resolve temporary communication or software issues.
- Check Print Queue: Sometimes, documents can get stuck in the print queue, which can prevent new documents from printing. Clear the print queue on your computer and try printing again.
- Check Printer Settings: Verify that the correct printer is selected in your computer's print dialog settings. Sometimes, the default printer might have changed.
- Check Paper and Settings: Ensure that the paper size and type settings in both your printer and print dialog match the paper you are using. Incorrect settings can cause printing problems.
- Run Printer Troubleshooter: Many operating systems have built-in printer troubleshooters that can diagnose and potentially fix common printing problems automatically.
- Reinstall Printer Drivers: If updating the drivers didn't help, try uninstalling and reinstalling the printer drivers on your computer.
- Factory Reset: As a last resort, you can perform a factory reset on your printer. This will reset all settings to their default and can sometimes resolve persistent issues.
If none of these steps resolve the issue, it might be a hardware problem with the printer itself.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
