Hi @kyamtay,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

When your HP Smart Tank 7602 printer displays error code 8AF30001, and it’s stuck in a state where it won’t power off or respond, it usually indicates a serious issue related to the printer's firmware or internal hardware. Here’s a step-by-step guide to troubleshoot and resolve this issue:

1. Power Cycle the Printer:

Turn Off Printer:

  • Power Button: Press and hold the power button for about 10 seconds to force the printer to turn off.
  • Unplug: If the printer does not turn off, unplug it from the power source.
  • Wait for 60 Seconds: Leave the printer unplugged for at least one minute to ensure all residual power is drained.
  • Reconnect: Plug the printer back into the power source.
  • Turn On: Press the power button to turn the printer back on and check if the issue persists.

2. Perform a Hard Reset:

  • Power Down: Turn off the printer and unplug it from the electrical outlet.
  • Allow Time: Wait for about 2 minutes.
  • Plug In: Plug the power cord back into the outlet and the printer.
  • Turn On: Press the power button to start the printer.

3. Check for Firmware Issues:

  • Access HP Support: If possible, visit the HP support website to check for any firmware updates or specific fixes related to the error code 8AF30001.
  • Follow Instructions: If an update is available, follow the instructions on the HP website to update the firmware. This may require temporarily connecting the printer to a computer or network.

4. Check for Software Issues:

  • Retry Download: If the error occurred during a software download, try to download and install the latest software from the HP website again.
  • Reinstall: If you can access a device with the HP Smart app, try reinstalling the app to ensure it’s up-to-date and functioning correctly.

5. Inspect Printer for Hardware Issues::

  • Paper Path: Ensure there are no paper jams or obstructions inside the printer.
  • Internal Connections: Ensure that all internal connections are secure if you are comfortable opening the printer’s access panels.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
