Here's the symptom. I turn the printer on and it works fine. After a certain amount of time it goes to sleep, and the front menu screen glows a solid white. If I press the on/off switch, the printer wakes up, and it's working fine. But if the printer is asleep, it can't be revived by a printing request, and any pc that tries to print gets a message that the printer is offline.

I have already tried the HP Print Doctor (and various other device driver checkers), and they all report that everything is up to date, and no updates are available.

Any suggestions? In the short term, it's just a matter of manually waking up the printer before I print something. But does anyone else have any suggestions?

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be happy to assist you with the printer offline issue.

Let's restore the network settings on the Printer:

1. From the printer control panel, touch or swipe down the tab at the top of the screen to open the Dashboard, and then touch ( Setup ). 2. Touch Network Setup. 3. Touch Restore Network Settings. A message appears stating that the network defaults will be restored. 4. Touch Yes.

Once done, connect the Printer back to the Wi-Fi.

Let me know if this helps.

Thanks, Betty0610! That solved it.... Twenty four hours later and no sign of the previous problem.
