Hi @amysmith2998,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding the solid orange light on the HP4255e!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Try these steps:

1. Check for Error Messages:

  • If your printer is connected to a computer, check the HP Smart app or your computer for any error messages or codes that can provide more information about the problem.

2. Check Ink Cartridges:

  • Ensure that the ink cartridges are installed correctly.
  • Open the ink cartridge access door and make sure there are no obstructions or misaligned cartridges.

3. Clear Paper Jams:

  • Look for any paper jams inside the printer. Remove the paper tray and any jammed or shredded paper, ensuring that the paper path is clear.

4. Reset the Printer:

  • Turn off the printer and disconnect the power cord from the wall and the printer.
  • Wait for 2-3 minutes and reconnect the power cord to the printer and the wall outlet.
  • Turn the printer back on and check if the error persists.

5. Check for Firmware Updates:

  • Go to the HP Support website to check for any firmware updates available for your printer model.

6. Reinstall Printer Software:

  • Sometimes reinstalling the printer driver and software can help resolve issues:
    • Remove the printer software from your computer.
    • Download and install the latest drivers and software for your printer from the HP website.

I hope this helps.
