When I try to print my device will say printing an then it never prints and it stays in my que. Other times it will print a page or 2 out of 4 and the 3rd page will have a rainbow printed at the end of it and the last page will be blank. I have tried unplugging and resetting it and it still does it.

I see that you have issues with printing, let us try to isolate and resolve the issue-

  • Are you able to make photocopies on the printer?
  • Which application are you trying to print from?
  • Are you using the HP Smart App or AirPrint options to print from?

Yes I can do copies just fine. I have issues printing from air print I believe. I have tried printing word docs, documents from Google Docs, and pictures. It is just finicky. It may print just fine like a little bit ago, then I can try to print again and it’ll not act like I tried to print anything or it may print a page or 2 then put the rainbow colored lines on a page and not print anything more. I don’t use an actual computer, just my iPhone and iPad and have never had any issues till this last month. I have printed a lot more than normal recently bc of school work being done at home now.

I'd suggest you follow the steps below-

 

Check for any updates on your iOS device. Use the document Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch for reference.

 

Update the printer firmware

Download available firmware updates from the HP website

With the printer on and connected to the computer, go to HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads, and then identify your printer. Look for and install any available firmware updates. Refer to the document HP Printers - Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware

 

Also, try using the HP Smart App instead of AirPrint.
