Hello. I have had my printer for a couple of years now and have never had a problem with duplex printing. Suddenly I am no longer able to do so. I have tried everything I can think of, following suggestions I've seen online with no help. I have uninstalled my printer and reinstalled it, updated drivers, changed settings and nothing.
Suggestions please!!
Thanks in advance.

Thank you for joining HP Forums.}
I'll be glad to help you 🙂
As I understand you are having trouble with your MacOS 10.12 Sierra when trying the duplex printing with your HP Photosmart 7520,
To provide an accurate solution I will need a few more details from you:
1. What size paper are you using?
2. What tray are you selecting?
3. What program are you using to print?
4. Are you selecting borderless when attempting the print?
I will keep an eye out for your reply so we can begin troubleshooting.
In the meantime, Take a quick look here to make sure everything is set up properly: Printing on Both Sides of the Paper
Feel free to post your query for any other assistance as well,
It's been a pleasure interacting with you and I hope you have a good day ahead.

IHello.
Thanks for your reply.
I am selecting:
1. US letter
2. I'm not really sure what you're meaning here. It is coming from the main paper tray. (Previously, I would hit print, select two sided option and print and it would do it's magic).
3. Doesn't matter if I'm printing from Safari, Firefox or Adobe pdf, I get same result.
4. No. Although I have tried borderless and it didn't work either.
I've also tried to select US letter, two sided margins and it doesn't work either.
Thanks, Jennifer

Thank you for the update,
I appreciate your time and efforts,
Alright, let's get down to business,
Here're the first set of troubleshooting steps (probably the last one)as this should resolve the issue 😉
-
Load the paper into the input tray. Make sure that you are using the correct paper type and weight (not lighter than 60 g/m2 (16 lb) or heavier than 105 g/m2 (28 lb) bond; see the Duplexing guidelines.
-
In the software program, click File, and then click Print.
-
From the menu, select Paper Handling, and then remove the check mark from Collate Pages, if selected.
-
For Pages to Print, select Odd Only.
-
For Page Order, select Automatic.
-
Change any other desired print settings, including the option for borderless printing, and then click Print.
-
When the first side has finished printing, remove the stack of paper from the output tray.
-
For portrait orientation, keep the print side up, turn the stack of paper 180 degrees so the top of the page is at the bottom, and then reinsert the stack of paper into the input tray.
-
For landscape orientation, reinsert the stack into the input tray without turning it.
-
- In the software program, click File, and then click Print.
-
From the menu, select Paper Handling.
-
For Pages to Print, select Even Only.
-
For Page Order, select Automatic.
-
Change any other desired print settings, and then click Print.

I really appreciate the time you've put in to help me with this issue. I actually know how to manually duplex print. What I'm interested in is how to get back to automatic duplex printing which I had been able to do without issue since I've had this printer until just the last couple weeks.
Thanks again.

Thank you for the update,
I appreciate your time and efforts,
I'm afraid the HP Photosmart 7520 doesn't support automatic duplex printing, which means doing it manually is the only option available, visit and check your user manual/guide for more details: Click here
Let me know how that pans out,

That is funny because I have used the automatic duplex printing for about 2-3 years now, since I've had my printer. I also have the two sided printer accessory on my printer. Perhaps the accessory is faulty but the function is most definitely available on this model printer.
Regardless, thanks for your willingness to help!

Hi@jenjen006
Yes, you're right this printer does support the Automatic duplexing. For more information on your printer specification click here.
I came across your message about the printing issue with your HP printer and wanted to pop in to help.
This issue can be fixed by updating your Mac and then resetting the printing system. Try the steps below:
* Click the Apple menu icon, and then click “System Preferences”.
* Click “Printers and Scanner” / “Print and Scan” or “Print and Fax”.
* Right-click the blank space in the Printers list, and then click “Reset printing system”.
* Click “Reset” in the confirmation window.
* Enter an administrator username and password, and then click “OK”.
* Wait until the printing system is reset and no devices show in the Printers list
* Click the “Add button” (+).
* Find, and then select the name of your printer from the printer list, and then click “Add” to add your printer.
* Click “Print Using...”, and then select the name of your printer (By default “Airprint” would be selected)
Please let me know if this resolves the issue, or if you require further assistance.
