I have the same issue. This is ridiculous! Is this a way for HP to make persons buy a new printer?!?!?! I installed 2 genuine black ink cartridges in my HP OfficeJet Pro 8710 printer and getting the same issue. Therefore, it is definitely NOT the ink cartridge!!!

@Vernetta777, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Supply System Problem on HP Printers!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
Issue: If you are encountering the "Supply System Problem" error on your HP OfficeJet Pro 8710 printer, it indicates a potential problem with the printer's supply system, which could relate to the cartridges or the printer itself.
Cause:
- The problem could be related to the supply system itself.
- It might also be caused due to incorrect cartridge installation or a non-genuine cartridge that the printer cannot recognize.
Solution: To resolve the "Supply System Problem" error, follow these steps:
Verify Cartridge Authenticity:
- Ensure that the cartridges you have installed are genuine HP cartridges. Non-HP cartridges can sometimes cause compatibility issues.
- If you believe the cartridges are genuine, you can verify their authenticity at HP Anti-Counterfeit Ink Cartridge Verification.
Reinstall Cartridges:
- Remove the affected cartridge(s) from the printer.
- Examine the contacts on the cartridge and inside the printer for any ink build-up or debris, and clean them if necessary.
- Reinstall the cartridge(s) and ensure they are seated correctly.
Replace with Non-Empty Cartridge:
- If the problem persists, try replacing the affected cartridge with another genuine, non-empty cartridge.
Power Cycle:
- Turn off the printer, unplug the power cord, wait for 30 seconds, and then plug it back in. Turn the printer on and check if the error persists.
Hope this helps!
Take care, and have an amazing day!

@Vernetta777, Thanks for the update, and I’m really sorry you’re still running into this frustrating issue — especially after trying all the right steps.
If the non-genuine cartridges are working but multiple genuine HP ones are triggering the "Supply System Problem" error, it may be due to the expiration or deactivation of those Instant Ink cartridges. Instant Ink cartridges are subscription-based and sometimes get disabled if they're no longer linked to an active account or past their usage window.
Here’s what I suggest:
Check Your HP Instant Ink Account: Log in at instantink.hpconnected.com and make sure your subscription is active and the cartridges are still associated with your account.
If our solution hit the spot, please click "Accepted Solution" to help others find the answer. And if you'd like to say thanks, select "Yes" on the bottom left as that would make our day!
Take care, and have an incredible day ahead!
Regards,

So, is this the only solution? Keep posting the instructions that we have all tried? Every post is exactly what you find in the support pages. We have all reset and cleaned everything possible. Is the REAL answer that it can't be fixed and we need to get a new printer?

Hey fellow HP sufferers,
I see there has been further commentary on this topic, but I am not going to waste any more time reading horrible support statements from HP/their bots/etc. This is how I fixed this kindergarten-engineering-level bug:
After doing all their stupid suggestions and it having zero impact, I reinstalled the prior EMPTY cartridge, at which point the printer stated something along the lines of "this is the old empty cartridge. Install a new one." I then reinstalled the new, priorly-installed-but-unused cartridge, and after a few minutes of reading the cartridge, wasting time, etc, the printer identified it correctly, and LOW AND BEHOLD, it now works as intended.
HP is a terrible company with terrible products, HW and SW. I can't wait to get a Brother. Good luck everyone!

I am beginning to believe that the HP Support team do not use HP Printers otherwise they wouldn't keep posting the same instructions as if we are just seeing them for the first time. It goes back to training and whether or not they really want to help us resolve the problem or not. In most cases they don't. They just look at their cheat card and say "oh it's this problem so it's this answer." Customer service and even tech support is not what it used to be. Companies don't seem to care if their products are good or whether people are happy with their equipment. It's sad. HP for printing was ALWAYS my go to. But unless you absolutely needed the other options not found on other printers I would never recommend HP Printers. I have never been a fan of their computers but figured they lacked ingenuity in the PC field because they were so focused on the printers and making them outstanding. I cannot say that anymore. If anyone SHOULD be considering another HP Printer I can tell you that the HP OfficeJet Pro 9125e has a LOT of problems. I needed the double-sided printing from the ATF and I couldn't find this feature on any other color printer that didn't cost $1,000. It jams constantly, it doesn't have an automatic paper sensor so every time you switch paper you have to answer a message on the printer, when printing envelopes if you have an image on it you have to select Best print quality otherwise you get lines thorough your image, and the paper tray feels like more than 10 sheets can make it collapse. Hopefully HP is taking our problems under consideration and will do something moving forward. Although if they wait too long they will have very few customers. In an economy that seems very volatile at the moment you would think HP would want to keep its customers. I hope those in this feed have been able to resolve their problems in some way. I am sure in most cases the only resolution was to buy a different printer. 😞
