Finally !!! Thanks !!
I have been trying to load this software for years!!!
It did not work the first time I tried your suggestion because I burned the FZ file to the disc not the "contents" of the file. I burned contents and it worked. The program went all the way through the full download I got from HP downloads (until I reached Product Configuration.) I got another Fatal Error while it was in the Product Configuration phase. Error: E:\hpzsetup.exe "f".
To resolve this error I just opened the Fz file in %temp% and run the Setup.exe at the bottom of the list. I don't know if it would have worked by opening the Setup.exe in the CD drive. Didn't try!
When the main set up page came up. I selected Add More Software and selected Solution Center and WALA Finished ! Everything working !!!
note: The "Add More Software" Solution Center selection will no longer be available on the main setup page after sucessful install.
My installer was looking for files on the wrong drives. I had tried loading from CD and web site.
It was just as confused as I was.
Pretty simple though!! HP help did not work.

I'm having the same problem. I followed your instructions up to downloading the printer drivers. I was unable to delete 2 files in the temp directory. I have no idea what they are.
I tried to reinstall the drivers for the Photosmart 8750 onto my Win 7 64 bit machine, and the HP site says:
The drivers for your HP product are already included in the new Windows 7 operating system! You do not need to download drivers to use the product . Simply connect the printer to your computer with a USB cable, and Windows 7 automatically installs the driver for your product.
The printer works fine, but it just keeps giving me this endless loop of error messages. Should I uninstall the drivers first? Please help!

The way I got it to work for me, was to follow the previous sets from before:
If software was downloaded and extracted to your system:
1. Type %temp% in the run field
2. Look for, and open the folder starting with 7z (Example: 7zS2356)
3. Open folder Util
4. Open folder CCC
5. If you have an HP computer run the L3uninstall.bat. If you have a non-HP computer run the L4uninstall.bat
6. When the uninstall has completed restart the computer
But, at this point I copied the folder from the temp directory to a flash drive (Im sure it could even be ran from the temp directory). BEFORE running the setup.exe I disabled my internet seeing as how it wanted to find newer files. Once it got beyond the preparing for the installation I hooked it back up to the network so it could see my wireless printer, and it succeeded. Keeping it from trying to find any kind of update helped for me, hopefully it works for everyone elsee too.

I can't find this file in the temp folder or anywhere on my system. thus the error. I can't find any folder or file starting with 7z. None of these solutions have worked. I've reinstalled several times. The message won't go away. But the printer works fine! I have to end the program with Task Manager because it won't let me close it.
