HP Neverstop Laser MFP 1202nw

Hi,
I have a Neverstop 1202nw printer that suddenly stopped powering on. After investigating, I found that the issue was caused by a shorted step-down DC/DC converter (TPS54335A) on the main formatter board. I replaced the part, and the printer now powers on.

However, a new problem has arisen: the printer frequently halts, and the only way to restore its functionality is to cut the power and restart it. My suspicion is that the short circuit may have damaged the main IC on the board. I’m not entirely sure about this theory since I haven’t tested it thoroughly. Moreover, when the printer manages to start a print job before halting, the output is fine, which makes me think the issue might be related to the power supply unit (PSU) instead.

When the TPS54335A was shorted, a relay cut the power before the chip was completely fried. Perhaps the short circuit damaged some components of the PSU that were powering the chip? It seems odd to me that a chip like this, with all its built-in protections, would suddenly fail, so I’m wondering if another component could be causing the problem.

Is there anyone who can help me debug this issue? I’ve seen discussions here where people ask about the main board, but it is not currently sold by HP. Is there any place where I could find one? Printers of this model often seem to suffer from the same problem, so it’s difficult to find a used unit sold for parts that still has a functioning main formatter board.

Is it normal for HP printers to have such issues? I’ve noticed that in this community, it’s common for owners of this model to report problems with broken PSUs or printers that won’t power up. I find this quite concerning, given the price tag of the printer and the fact that mine is no longer under warranty. Does HP acknowledge this issue?
