Change black cartridge ink on Tango X printer and the blinking light won't stop since. Have tried turn off, restart, power on and off, cable plug off and on, still cannot do away with blinking light.

Hi @printTXab,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you are encountering issues like this with your printer, it can be frustrating, but there are a few troubleshooting steps we can take to try to resolve the problem:

  • Ensure Proper Installation: Make sure that the black ink cartridge is properly installed. Sometimes, cartridges may not be seated correctly, leading to connectivity issues.
  • Check Cartridge Compatibility: Ensure that the replacement ink cartridge is compatible with your HP Tango X printer model. Using incompatible cartridges can cause errors.
  • Clean Contacts: Turn off the printer and remove the ink cartridge. Check the contacts on both the cartridge and inside the printer for any dirt or debris. Gently clean them with a lint-free cloth or cotton swab dipped in distilled water. Allow them to dry completely before reinserting the cartridge.
  • Reset the Printer: Sometimes, a simple reset can resolve issues. Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, and wait for a few minutes. Then, plug it back in and turn it on again.
  • Update Printer Firmware: Ensure that your printer's firmware is up to date. Manufacturers often release firmware updates to address compatibility issues and improve performance. Update the firmware on an HP printer
  • Check for Paper Jams: Even if the ink cartridge was the focus of your recent attention, it's possible that there's a paper jam or another issue causing the blinking light. Check all access points for paper jams and clear any obstructions.
  • Verify Printer Connection: Ensure that the printer is properly connected to your computer. If you're using a USB connection, try a different USB port. If you're using a wireless connection, make sure that the printer is connected to the correct Wi-Fi network.
  • Check Ink Levels: Confirm that the new ink cartridge has sufficient ink. If the ink levels are low, replace the cartridge with a new one.

Thank you Gaya1239,
Thanks for the cross-checking. Sadly, I've tried all the suggested methods before my writing. I gave up and took out the black cartridge and glad to see the printer working. With that, I suspect it is cartridge issue - a faulty product. Our first time after years of repeated purchase.  Have a good day.
