My HP Photosmart C4280 printer is stuck in a continuous loop printing a test page VERY SLOWLY over and over. I can find no way to cancel the job, as my PC no longer lists the printer, despite reloading the driver.

Welcome to HP Support community.
Did you make a copy and check if the issue persists?
Did you uninstall the printer driver from root level and check if the issue persists?
If not, follow the below steps:
Perform root level uninstallation to remove all the printer related software's.
- In Windows, search for and open Programs and Features.
- Select your HP printer.
- Select Uninstall.
- In Windows, search for and open Devices and Printers.
- In the Devices and Printers window look for your HP Printer. If you see it listed, right-click on it and choose "Delete" or "Remove Device.”
- Open up the run command with the "Windows Key + R" key combo.
- Type printui.exe /s and click OK.
- Click on Drivers tab.
- Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it click on it and click Remove at the bottom.
- Select OK.
- Remove all instances of the same.
- Select Apply and OK on the Print Server Properties windows.
- Close Devices and Printers.
- Restart the PC again.
Download and install printer full feature driver
Click here to download the driver.
Let me know how it goes.

Root uninstallation successful, but problem still persists. Test page printing took 4 minutes and printer is now stuck in a continuous loop of reprinting this test page. What to do?
It may be significant that my HP Photosmart C4280 still hasn't appeared in the list of Windows Devices Printers.

Hi @Flapjack96
Please try these steps - HP Printers - Slow Printing (Windows)

Hi Asmita6658
I can't carry out all these 'slow printing' procedures until I can find a way to cancel the 'job' of printing the test page, which is in a continuous slow loop over and over. As I said before, I can't do it via Windows Devices Printers because this printer still isn't listed there, despite my recent reinstallation of the HP driver.
Please advise!

@Flapjack96 I suggest using the below steps to perform a hard reset to put an end to the continuous printing of test pages:
- Turn the printer on, if it is not already on.
- Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.
- With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
- Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
- Wait at least 60 seconds.
- Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
- NOTE:
- HP recommends connecting the printer power cord directly to the wall outlet.
- Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
- Turn on the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.
Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you proceed.
Let us know if this helped.
Keep us posted
