My printer was printing fine and then started to print streaks of color across photos only.  When the yellow cartridge ran out, I replaced it, but it ran out of ink much more quickly than it had in the past.  I cleaned the print head several times.  The test page kept coming out wonky, as did the printer report (see photos below).  I tried changing out the cyan cartridge, since cyan wasn't printing, but that didn't change anything.  I did a hard reset, pulled out the cartridges one by one and replaced them one by one.  I've run the HP print doctor.  The printer is probably at least seven years old.  I don't know if it is worth trying to fix it, or if it's time to get a new printer.

i think 7 years is a good time that the printer has served you. my Canon laser printer is at its 6th year and its network connectivity failed. i now use it using a usb cable instead.  do u use original cartridges or oem ones from those aftermarket cartridge providers?
