Hi everyone, I'm getting this problem that when I print like an e-mail from my phone or pc I get weird text shadowing in every line. I really don't know what to do, I've already cleaned the NEW cartbrige (black xl & color), I've tried 3 times to align the headers and still nothing. When I print the test page from the printer is fine, but when I print something else from my phone or pc it has this weird problem. I'm including pictures so everyone can see what I'm talking about.

Also I've tried to change quality settings but nothing has changed.problem exampleproblem exampletest page from printertest page from printer

Hi @parzel77

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you

Due to the current global COVID-19 situation, we're seeing an influx of customers coming in for support. We appreciate your patience.

1) Does the copy print out the same way?

2) What's the application you are trying to print from? Have you tried printing from a different application or device?

meanwhile,

Let's try a power reset on the printer

Reset the product

  • With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  • Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
  • Wait at least 60 seconds.
  • Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
  • Reconnect the power cord to the printer.
  • Turn the printer on. HP recommends plugging the printer directly into a wall outlet.

Download and run HP Print and Scan Doctor

Download and run HP Print and Scan Doctor to automatically identify and resolve the issue.

Try to print. If the issue persists, continue to the next step.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Thanks for your help.  I followed all of the steps in your reply but still have the same problem.  The only differences I note are that the 'Test Page' does not print clearly but the page printed for the cartridge alignment looks perfect.  Also, the 'shadows' only appear when printing with the black cartridge.  The tri-color prints all colors okay.  ???

I tried all of the steps in the document, including trying other paper.  The printing is 'better', but not perfect.  I'll work with it for a while and start looking for a new printer.  Thanks again for your help and follow up.
