HP DeskJet 2755e All-in-One Printer

HP2700 all in one printer/scanner. The red light is on and solid next to the capital I on the left side of printer. Why is this light on? The printer says its ready to accept my files. Using Windows 10 64 bit OS.

Hi @Jennryan1996,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you are getting the solid red light beside the capital "I" on the HP DeskJet 2755e All-in-One Printer indicates that there is an issue that needs attention. Here are a few common reasons why this light might be on:

  • Ink Cartridges: The ink cartridges might need attention. This could be due to low ink levels, improperly installed cartridges, or cartridge alignment issues.
  • Paper Jams: There might be a paper jam or some sort of obstruction in the paper path.
  • Printhead Issues: The printhead could be clogged or not seated correctly.
  • Printer Error: There might be a general printer error or internal issue that needs troubleshooting.
  • Steps to Resolve the Issue:
  • Check Ink Cartridges: Make sure the ink cartridges are properly installed and have sufficient ink. Remove and reinstall them if necessary.
  • Inspect for Paper Jams: Open the printer’s paper tray and check for any paper jams or obstructions. Clear any jams you find.
  • Clean Printhead: Perform a printhead cleaning using the printer’s built-in maintenance options. This can often be done through the printer's control panel or the HP Smart app.
  • Reset Printer: Try turning off the printer, unplugging it from the power source for about 60 seconds, then plugging it back in and turning it on.
  • Check Printer Status: Sometimes, checking the printer's status or error messages on the control panel or HP Smart app can provide more specific information about the issue.
