HP Deskjet F4180
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have installed a HP Color Laser printer for my print jobs, and want to use my older printer, a HP Deskjet F4180 for scanning jobs. However, the scanning function on my HP Deskjet F4180 is blocked by "no paper" and/or "no cartridges" warning.

Hope for some forum help

Hi I would like to assist to the best of my ability to solve your problem.I hope the information i supply will be of help.

As far as what i have experienced the printer must be in a ready state before you will be able to use the scanner.Even if the cartridges is empty as long as the machine can get to the ready state it will work.Hope this will help.
