Product: HP Pavilion Notebook - 17-g103dx (ENERGY STAR)
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

The warranty on my HP Envy 4500 has expired. Now I can't print photos in color.  When I open the printer dialogue box

everything has a locked symbol on it and cannot be chosen.   Does this mean once your warranty expires you can't use the product anymore?  I tried running the Scan Doctor but it hung up and wouldn't finish.

An expires warranty does not block printing. If you were on an instant ink subscription  service and canceled that may block printing, but not  warranty. Will it print test pages from the control panel?

reinstalled using usb instead of wireless 

problem fixed
