Hi @Ysartin,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like the thin ribbon you're referring to is part of the ink carriage mechanism in your HP ENVY Photo 7855 printer. This ribbon is usually a component that connects the ink cartridge to the printer for various functions, including communication and ink delivery.

Since this issue involves the printer's internal mechanism, here's a general process to reattach the ribbon.

  1. Turn off and unplug the printer for safety.
  2. Open the printer's access panel to reveal the ink cartridge area. This should be the area where the ink cartridges are installed and where the ribbon is detached from.
  3. Locate the ribbon and its connection point on the ink carriage or frame.
  4. Reattach the ribbon carefully. Depending on the model, there might be a clip, slot, or a small connector where the ribbon connects. Make sure it's aligned properly before pressing it into place.
  5. Check for any other displaced components like the ink cartridges or other cables and ensure everything is in place.
  6. Close the access panel and plug the printer back in.
  7. Turn the printer on and run a test print to ensure the ink carriage and ribbon are functioning properly.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
