Hello, I have a HP Officejet Pro 7740, Trying to print on Bluebeam a large format A3 document and the dropdown menu does not show a option for tray 2. When using the HP smart to print A3 tray 2 is shown but is shaded and does not allow me to choose that option. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the driver and still no luck.

Hi @mattbom,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like you're encountering issues with tray recognition for A3 printing on your HP OfficeJet Pro 7740. Here are some steps you can try to resolve the issue.
Check Tray Configuration
- Ensure that Tray 2 is properly installed and configured. Open the printer settings on the printer's control panel and make sure Tray 2 is set up for A3 paper.
Update Printer Firmware
- Visit the HP Support website and check if there's a firmware update available for your HP OfficeJet Pro 7740. Updating the firmware might resolve compatibility issues.
Printer Settings in HP Smart
- In HP Smart, go to Printer Settings and check the Paper Setup or Paper Handling options. Make sure Tray 2 is set to handle A3 paper.
Check Paper Size Settings in Bluebeam
- When printing from Bluebeam, go to the print dialog and make sure the paper size is set to A3 and that Tray 2 is selected as the source. Sometimes custom paper sizes need to be configured separately in the print driver settings.
Driver and Software Configuration
- Ensure you have the latest printer driver installed. Go to HP's website, download the latest driver for the OfficeJet Pro 7740, and reinstall it.
Printer Properties
- Go to Devices and Printers on your computer, right-click on the HP OfficeJet Pro 7740, and select Printer Properties. Check the Advanced tab to see if Tray 2 is listed and properly configured.
Default Printer Settings
- Ensure that the default printer settings in Windows or your operating system match your print job settings. Sometimes discrepancies between the default printer settings and the application settings can cause issues.
Check for Hardware Issues
- Make sure there are no obstructions or hardware issues with Tray 2. Sometimes a physical issue with the tray can cause it to be unrecognized.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
