Trouble printing Word files from Mac

Hi. I am having trouble printing Word files from my Mac laptop. The only files I seem to have access to are PDFs. Any suggestions?

Welcome to HP forums, I see that you are unable to print Word file from Mac.

Test printing in a new document.

1. Create a new file in the Office program (Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.) that you're having trouble printing from. To do that click File > New

2. Type a few words of random text

3. Try to print the document.

4. If it doesn't print successfully try changing the font of your text by selecting your sample text, choosing the Font drop down on the ribbon, and selecting a different font. Try printing again. If it prints successfully that tells us the problem is with the font you're using. The easiest solution is to use a different font for your text.

   

If the issue persists, this could be a driver issue

Remove and add the AirPrint printer to the Mac printer queue

1. Click the Apple menu, click System Preferences, and then click Print & Scan or Printers & Scanners.

2. Check if your printer name displays in the Printers list, and then do one of the following steps.

   • If your printer is listed, remove and re-add the printer to confirm it is set up for AirPrint. Click the printer name, click the minus sign  to delete the printer, click the plus sign , click Add Printer or Scanner, click the printer name and then continue to the next step.

   • If your printer is not listed, click the plus sign, click Add Printer or Scanner, click the name of your printer, and then continue to the next step.

3. Confirm AirPrint or Secure AirPrint displays in the Use or Print Using menu, and then click Add.

4. Open a document or photo, click File, and then click Print.
