Hello,

I'd like to know how to turn off the HP Cartridge Protection. I just got some new ink, and I don't want to put them into the printer until this setting is officially deactivated. I've found some guides via HP.com, but they are not valid anymore. When I access the printer's EWS, there is no option to turn this off. There doesn't appear to be an option via with HP Utility app either. Help would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

Your printer model doesn't have HP Cartridge protection, that feature was introduced in later models.

Thanks for responding, but I'm still getting the error message. I refilled the cartridge, the printer refuses to actually use the ink.

Your current issue has nothing to do with HP Cartridge protection, you should have better explain your problem in your opening post.

If you have refilled ink you have done only a half of the job, the second half it to reset ink cartridge level so the printer knows that it has ink. If you bought an ink refill there should be reset instructions, if not you will need to contact the seller who sold it.

I did the ink refill myself.
