New spectrum E3 400 mbps router will not connect to LJ8000N or Color 4500N printer using cables.  Worked fine this morning on  my office network but at home office with this new fast router not working.  Seems to install and icon on computer says ready but the test page never gets to the printer. I tried a new cable, tried slowering the router speed from 400 to 200. Installed the LJ8000N printer numerous times. new network cable. switched to wireless for computer to router.  NO connection.

Used TCP/IP address. also tried LPT1.  Spectrum is coming tomorrow afternoon.  All worked fine in California last week using 200mbps existing router and Brother printer.  Phones on wifi, kindle on wifi, internet is fine .  Just connectivity issue with HP printers.

Both of these printers are ancient and likely the network cards are just not up to snuff for current networking standards. Both printers should be using EIO Jet Direct slots and you could upgrade the cards to a minimum JetDirect T620 to ensure compatibility with current network standards. Likely you have 600N network cards in these units.

The suggestion that my JetDirect 600N card # J3113A was unable to communicate with the new 400MBPS Spectrum router was absolutely CORRECT.  You nailed the problem in one email.  It was suggested at least a T620 card.  I purchase a HP JetDirect 620N, Plugged it in . Added the new printer  from my computer and the test page printed perfectly.  We are snowbirds so the printer has be sitting for 6 months but the only thing that changed was the 200 mbps router was replaced with new 400 MBPS .

I hope this help others with a similar problem.  My printers are older LJ8000N and Color LJ4500N.

Thank you,
