We have an HP MFP 281fdw printer for our house in Italy (we also have a 277 at our home in Atlanta).

I purchased “genuine HP toner“ from the HP store on Amazon in the US.

The description on the Amazon site clearly states it works for this printer.

It does not!

The printer says “incompatible supplies” and refuses to print anything!

I checked the printer for firmware upgrades, and applied one last night, but it still rejects the toner as in compatible.

So, considering I am in Italy until the end of June, how should I go about getting this fixed?

And why don’t the toner cartridges work when they are supposed to?

We bought the GENUINE  HP toner cartridges in the US because it’s cheaper there than here, but returning the toner cartridges, which don’t work, and especially when purchased from the HP store on Amazon, seems a bit ridiculous.

If, as other posts in the forum suggest, this is because the region is “wrong”, HP should declare that need up front and provide a way to change regions.

So, is there a place to change regions available in the printer settings?. I have not found it…

Thanks.
