Envy 6455e printer. Printed and scanned a few days ago. Now it says it's offline, and that it can't find a printer - even though the wifi icon is on and steady.
The last time I scanned, it 'uploaded' somewhere. Why is it uploading?
So I was concerned about HP doing some unauthorized snooping. I decided to connect to a usb port. A search comes up with - "no, this printer does not have a usb port"; another entry says it does. The actual manual indicates that it does indeed have one. After looking for it for quite a while, I found it with a sticker over it with a picture of a usb plug with a diagonal line inside a circle, like those indicating 'do not use' or 'wrong way'. What the !@#$ does this mean?

Hi,
The printer does have a USB port, HP Plus printers are cloud based and can be used with a USB connection, but only once the printer was connected to the network and have a sable internet access, therefore the warning that a USB cable cannot be used on its own, internet connection is still required for the printer, you may see the setup guidance as a reference, as the printer is connected with a steady wireless light you may remove the tape and plug the printer with a USB cable, assuming there are no network issues preventing internet access for the printer
