Thank you for posting on HP Forums,

Flower_Bud is at your service.

As I understand, your printer loses the connectivity and gives an offline error message,

No worries, as I'll be glad to help you, that said, I'll need a few more details to dissect your concern & provide an accurate solution:

When was the last time it worked fine?

Were there any hardware/software changes made?

What is the exact error message?

Let's try these steps to resolve the issue:

Download and run HP Print and Scan Doctor: Follow steps from the link: Click here

Root level uninstall and reinstall printer drivers:

  • Go to Control panel – Programs and feature – Select all the HP DeskJet printer entries and uninstall them.
  • Now go to Control panel – Devices and printer – Select all the printer entries and remove the device.
  • Then press the "windows key" + "r" to get the "Run" window open - Type "printui.exe /s" and press enter.
  • Under print server properties, go to drivers - remove any entry there as well.
  • Again, go to run window, type – “c:/programdata” – Go to Hewlett Packard folder, remove any printer related folders & files.

To reinstall, click here

NOTE: Connect the USB cable only when prompted by the computer.

Let me know how this goes,

Cheers!

It worked flawlessly about 2months ago, I dont use the printer regularly so I cant tell the exact date.

It has corrupted windows 10 of my desktop, I thought it might be a problem of any virus or malware, but when I connected it with my laptop the problem was seen, so I restored my laptop to an early date.

The solution that was suggested by @Flower_Bud (HP support agent) was of no use for my desktop.

For your kind information after its corruption no USB device is detected properly, it connects and disconnects continuosly except for USB mouse and USB keyboard, windows couldnot be reinstalled as pendrive could not function properly.

I am sorry to write that I cant share the error message, as I dont want to corrupt my windows of my laptop, already my desktop is in breakdown condition.

For my desktop I used HP print and scan docter, it showed that it has a problem with the USB connection.

When I am using android phone via OTG to USB connector for printing, it is working fine.

Thank you for responding,

It's great to have you back 😉

You could try another USB cable and also connect the cable to a different USB port on your computer and check.

Also, update Firmware: Click here
