Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi, I'm suddenly unable to print from my Officejet 4650.  I can print a test page but nothing else.  When I try to print, I get a popup that the printer needs my attention.  The printer itself shows no error message.  I've gone through all the diagnostic apps, I've rebooted my machine and the printer, uinstalled/reinstalled drivers, removed and re-added the printer, tried printing from various apps and even another computer - nothing seems to work.  What's odd is that test pages print but nothing else.  Yes its an old model but I don't use it very often so there should be nothing wrong with it.  I'm really hoping this isn't HPs way of getting people to purchase newer printers because they'll get their wish but I won't be purchasing anymore HPs.  In any case, I'd appreciate any help.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, I appreciate your efforts to try and resolve the issue.

I have a few troubleshooting steps we could try to fix the issue:

Download and run HP Print and Scan Doctor: Follow the steps from the link: Click here

Root level uninstall and reinstall printer drivers:

  • Go to Control panel – Programs and feature – Select all the HP OfficeJet printer entries and uninstall them.
  • Now go to Control panel – Devices and printer – Select all the printer entries and remove the device.
  • Then press the "windows key" + "r" to get the "Run" window open - Type "printui.exe /s" and press enter.
  • Under print server properties, go to drivers - remove any entry there as well.
  • Again, go to run window, type – “c:/programdata” – Go to Hewlett Packard folder, remove any printer related folders & files.

To reinstall, click here.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
