I have tried all the solutions that I came across on the internet for this issue but nothing works, I have reset the printer several times, I have checked printer settings multiple times and it is set to A4 paper and the paper I put in the tray is also A4 but the issue persists and whenever I try to print anything "E1" error comes up and printer cannot print anything.

Hi @s01-1311a7030 ,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you are getting the "E1" error on an HP Envy 6020e typically indicates a paper size or paper jam issue, which you've already checked for and ruled out. Since you've tried several solutions without success, here are some additional troubleshooting steps you can follow to address the issue:
Update Printer Firmware and Software:
- Ensure that your printer firmware is up to date. You can check for updates through the HP Smart app or HP's official website.
- Update the printer driver. Sometimes, an outdated driver can cause compatibility issues.
Reinstall Printer Driver: Software and Drivers for HP ENVY 6020e All-in-One Printer
- Uninstall the current printer driver from your computer.
- Download and install the latest driver from the HP website.
Check Paper Settings in Printer Software:
- Open the printer software on your computer and navigate to the paper settings.
- Ensure that the paper size is set to A4 in both the software and the printer.
Check Print Queue:
- Clear the print queue. Sometimes, stuck print jobs can cause errors.
- To clear the print queue, go to "Devices and Printers" in Control Panel, right-click your printer, and select "See what's printing." Cancel all documents.
Check for Obstructions:
- Ensure there are no small bits of paper or other obstructions inside the printer.
- Open all accessible areas of the printer and inspect for any foreign objects.
Reset Printer Settings:
- Perform a factory reset of the printer. This will revert all settings back to their defaults.
- Consult the printer manual for instructions on how to perform a factory reset.
Paper Tray and Feed Mechanism:
- Ensure the paper is loaded correctly in the tray. It should be aligned properly with the guides.
- Check if the feed mechanism is functioning properly. Sometimes, a mechanical issue can cause errors.
Printer Alignment:
- Perform a printer alignment if the printer offers this option. This can sometimes resolve issues related to paper handling.
