I'm trying to scan a document from my GF's HP Photosmart 5514 to my laptop wirelessly. Been thru the print & scan doc and no luck. Would get "scanner unreachable" error. Suddenly I had the error message & it began scanning anyway. After this "one hit wonder", no more scanning, just an error when I tried.
To add insult to injury, I can't findthe one item that did scan! I can't find the default location for successful scans. I'm so frustrated & confused I don't think I could see the answer if it blinking in large print on my screen! Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks

Hello @tayqoo – Hope you are well 🙂
Thank you for becoming an HP Forum member. It is a great location to get help from the community, get suggestions and find what has worked for others.
I see that you are having issues while performing scan function. This issue is normally caused due to some scan driver issues. Let’s try the following steps to install the correct scan drivers first:
- Unplug the USB cable from the printer and computer if present.
- Go to Control panel – Programs and feature – Select all the HP Envy printer entries and uninstall them.
- Restart your computer.
- Now click on http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software12/COL40649/mp-108849-3/PS5510d_1315-1.exe to download and install the printer drivers.
- Connect the USB cable if prompted and follow the onscreen instructions to complete the installation.
If the issues still persists, then try the HP Scan and Capture. Here are the detailed instructions and download link: http://hp.care/2dsHSjh
Please let me know if this resolves the issue, or if you require further assistance.
Thanks & have a great day 🙂
