A few days ago I updated my printer, based on an HP prompt from the task bar. Now, when I try to print, no printer is found. Earlier today I got messages saying the printer wasn't "registered". I clicked on the link to get a new PIN, entered the new PIN, and still couldn't register the printer. I have no idea what I'm doing wrong.

Roopa-S:

Last time I was able to print was around Dec 23. Around January 2 I upgraded my drivers, based on a suggestion that came from the task bar. Now, when I go to print, I get what appears to be an HP box titled "HP ePrint + JetAdvantage" plus the document name; subtitle "Search for wireless, network, and ePrint printers". It thinks for about 3 minutes, then another box comes up which says, "You must register this printer". When I click on a link in that box, it asks me for a PIN. I click on the link to get that PIN, which comes by e-mail. But when I enter the PIN, the printer doesn't register and I still can't print. I'm not sure what the warning message is then, as I just tried it again and now it gets stuck on the HP box. It just keeps thinking and nothing happens.

Thank you for replying with this detailed response. I appreciate your time and efforts!

Since this issue started after an update, I suggest uninstalling and reinstalling the printer driver.

Use the method below to remove all existing print drivers installed on your PC:
1.) In Windows, search for and open Apps & features.
2.) Select your HP Printer
3.) Select Uninstall
4.) In Windows, search for and open Printers &Scanners
5.) In the Printers &Scanners windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose 'Delete' or 'Remove Device'
6.) Open up the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo.
7.) Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between “printui.exe” and “/s”)
8.) Click on the "Drivers" tab
9.) Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom
10.) Select Ok
11.) Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows
12.) Close Devices and Printers
Once the drivers are removed, to download and install the software and driver: Click here
