Deskjet 2132

I am trying to print pictures using 51# - 190 gm - 7 mil photo paper.  The paper will not go into the printer to print the picture.  It acts like the paper is too thick even though it is within the guidelines.  Any suggestions?

Hi @Barb591,

Thanks for engaging in HP support Forums! This is a wonderful location to converse with the community, get assistance and find tips! I understand that you are facing issues while trying to do photo printing on your DeskJet 2132 printer. Don't worry as I have a few suggestions which should help you resolve this issue.

To provide you with an accurate solution, I'll need a few more details:

Could you provide me with the Operating system installed on the PC? Is it Windows or Mac

Have you checked the Printer specifications? Click here

Going through your post, it looks like an issue with the printer print settings on your PC causing the issue. While feeding the photo paper to the photo, you need to keep “Glossy” or print side facing down. Also, it is important to change the print settings before you print a photo. Check the settings mentioned below:

  1. Go to control panel - Devices and printers
  2. Right-click on your DeskJet and choose the "Printing preferences" option.
  3. Now, go to paper quality / layout tab and make sure the paper type is selected as "Photo paper".
  4. Also, select the correct paper size and save the settings.

Now, follow the steps mentioned to print the photo:

  • Open the picture using “Windows Photo Viewer” (You can right-click on the image and go to “Open with” to select the windows photo viewer app)
  • Change the paper size appropriately.
  • Also, change the paper type to “photo paper” before printing.

You can check detailed instructions here: HP Printers - How to Print Photos (Windows)

Please let me know if this resolves the issue, or if you require further assistance!

Eagerly waiting for your response!

I hope you have a good day ahead,

And Feel free to ask your queries as this forum has some of the best people in the world available and ready to help.

Hi @Barb591,

Thank you for replying,

As I understand you did check and still having issues printing. Don't worry as I have a few suggestions which should help you resolve this issue.

I would suggest here is to update the printer firmware on the printer. If your printer connected wirelessly, make sure to temporary connect the device with USB and then follow the link to check for the latest firmware update if available for your printer, using this website.

Let me know how it goes for further assistance!

At about 20% the update failed and came back as a corrupt file. Should I try again?

I finally got the Windows and HP. updates done. That still didn't help. You can print regular paper but not the photo paper. It will not feed.
