Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

We have been InstantInk users for over two years. We recently purchased new printers but before we install them we would like to know how we can use up the ink cartridges we have for the old printers? Will the cartidges still work after the old printers have been removed from the instant ink program? There are fairly new cartrdges in both old printers and we just received new cartidges for them. We would like to use up the ink without having HP send anymore cartridges for those printers. We hate waste. The printers still work for copies and for simple printing but not for photos or cardstock or high quality work.  Thanks.

After reviewing your post, I understand you have purchased a new printer and you would like to know if you can use the ink cartridges of the old printer. Let me help you with this.

Just wanted to check if the new printer is the same as the Old printer.

Are these Used ink cartridges or New cartridges. Is the new printer enrolled in the Instant ink program.

If the new printer is enrolled and the old printer is still enrolled for Instant ink and these cartridges are non used, then you should be able to go ahead and install them.

If the new printer is not enrolled and if the old printer is cancelled, then these instant ink cartridges will not work with the new printer.

Instant ink cartridges will work until you are enrolled for the Instant ink program.

@Kathie49

The ink that is in the old printer will not work in any other printer (doesn't matter if the new printer is enrolled or not) once your Instant Ink subscription cancellation has taken affect at the end of your billing cycle.

The extra ink cartridges from the old printer, if it hasn't been inserted into a printer at all, will work with the new printer IF that printer is enrolled in Instant Ink and uses the same cartridges.   If your new printer uses different cartridges then the unopened cartridges for the old printer will not work, but you can return them to HP via the recycling envelope to help the environment.

If you need a recylcing envelope you can request them from your Instant Ink acct page at www.hpinstantink.com.  Look at home page at the bottom under Help Center "Order a cartridge recycling envelope".

Hope that helps.
