I have a problem with photoprinting. The prints look very bad. I use HP advanced photopaper and HP ink
I let the printer do the colormanaging and I print from Photoshop
When I print on normal paper A4 (general printjob) photo's look fine but the photoprinting is horrible.
There are so much settings and I have no idea which to choose to better the quality
What can be the sollution?

Hi, as stated in my question; I use HP advanced photopaper (bought in a set with all ink colors + paper)
Also original HP ink.
I printed a copy the way it was explained in the video/article. The result was far to dark and too red. It looks like the photo was taken at night with low lamp light while it is a bright photo.

It looks like you were interacting with @Flower_Bud, but he is out for the day. I'm KrazyToad & I'm at your service.
Does it happen only with one particular photo you are printing or with every Photos?
Have you tried using another application other than Photoshop?

Yes every photo is bad. A4 normal print however is fine.
Off course I tried several applications beside Photoshop. XnView, windows photos,
I also tried different settings but I didn't know what I was doing exactly and it didn't work anyway.

After reviewing your post thoroughly, I see that you are able to print on regular paper. Howerver, you are having issues while printing on photo paper.
This looks like a possible print settings, let's try to adjust the print settings, clean the Ink cartridge contacts as well as try and use HP Photo paper and check.
It looks like an issue with the printer print settings on your PC causing the issue. While feeding the photo paper to the photo, you need to keep “Glossy” or print side facing down. Also, it is important to change the print settings before you print a photo. Check the settings mentioned below:
- Go to control panel - Devices and printers
- Right-click on your Photosmart and choose the "Printing preferences" option.
- Now, go to paper quality / layout tab and make sure the paper type is selected as "Photo paper".
- Also, select the correct paper size and save the settings.
Now, follow the steps mentioned to print the photo:
- Open the picture using “Windows Photo Viewer” (You can right-click on the image and go to “Open with” to select the windows photo viewer app)
- Change the paper size appropriately.
- Also, change the paper type to “photo paper” before printing.
You can check detailed instructions here: http://hp.care/2enTQLv
If the issue persists, I would suggest here is to do a clean install of the printer drivers:
First, unplug the USB cable from the printer if present.
Go to Control panel – Programs and feature – Select all the HP Phtosmart printer entries and uninstall them.
Now go to Control panel – Devices and printer – Select all the printer entries and remove the device.
Press the "windows key" + "r" to get the "Run" window open - Type "printui.exe /s" (There is a space between .exe & /) and press enter.
Under print server properties, go to drivers - remove any entry there as well.
Again, go to the Run window, type – “c:/programdata” – Go to Hewlett Packard folder, remove any printer related folders & files.
Restart your computer.
Now click on this link: https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers (Please enter the product number and then select the Operating system and version of Windows before downloading and installing the printer software.
Connect the USB cable if prompted and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.
Please let me know if this resolves the issue, or if you require further assistance!
Eagerly waiting for your response!
I hope you have a good day ahead,
And Feel free to ask your queries as this forum has some of the best people in the world available and ready to help.
