What user ID and password do I use to log in on the EWS to set up automatic updates for my printer? I've tried my HP account info and it doesn't work.

Hey there! @dparthurs, Thanks for stopping by HP forums!

 

I understand you need to know what is the default User Name and Password for the EWS page for your printer.

 

Don't worry I'll like to help you out.

 

Did you make any changes to your printer?

 

Please try the steps recommended below.

 

All you have to do is RESTORE NETWORK DEFAULT settings on the front control panel - follow this path on the front panel of your 8500 Wireless: Setup Menu> Network> Restore Network Defaults, this will reset them to default
 
1) password access requirement is turned OFF
2) username default is ADMIN
3) password is BLANK
 
Press the Wireless button ( ) and the Cancel button ( ) from the printer control panel at the same
time, and then hold them for three seconds.
