HP PageWide Pro MFP 477dw

What can I do to get my printer working again? It ran out of paper and then gave a stuck paper error, When no paper was found, the Oxc6fd0002 code came up, and now it's out of service.

Hi @Weimartian, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
The 0xc6fd0002 error on the HP PageWide Pro MFP 477dw usually indicates a hardware-related issue, often associated with the printhead or internal mechanics. Given that this happened after a paper-out and jam error, follow these steps to try and resolve it:

Power Cycle the Printer

  1. Turn off the printer using the power button.
  2. Unplug the power cable from the printer and the wall outlet.
  3. Wait for at least 3 minutes.
  4. Plug the power cable back in and turn on the printer.

Check for Any Paper Debris

Even though no paper is visible, small torn pieces may still be inside.

  1. Open all access panels, including the paper tray, rear panel, and ink cartridge area.
  2. Use a flashlight to inspect for tiny scraps of paper.
  3. If found, carefully remove them.
  4. Close all panels securely.

Reset the Ink Cartridges

  1. Open the ink cartridge access door.
  2. Remove all the ink cartridges.
  3. Reinsert them one by one, ensuring they click into place.
  4. Close the access door and restart the printer.

Check for Firmware Updates

If the printer starts, updating the firmware can help prevent future issues.

  1. On the printer control panel, go to Setup > Printer Maintenance > Update the Printer.
  2. Follow the on-screen instructions to update.

Perform a Semi-Full Reset

If the issue persists, try a semi-full reset:

  1. Turn off the printer.
  2. Press and hold OK + Cancel while turning it back on.
  3. Keep holding the buttons until the HP logo appears.
  4. Release the buttons and follow the on-screen instructions.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
