Hi @Wilrandy,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you are facing an issue with your HP DeskJet 4155e All-in-One Printer showing a "busy" status when trying to print. Here are some steps to troubleshoot and resolve this issue:

1. Restart Printer and Computer

  • Restart Printer: Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, wait for about a minute, then plug it back in and turn it on.
  • Restart Computer: Sometimes restarting your computer can resolve connectivity or driver issues.

2. Check Printer Connection

  • USB Connection: If your printer is connected via USB, make sure the cable is securely plugged into both the printer and the computer.
  • Wi-Fi Connection: Ensure that the printer is properly connected to your Wi-Fi network. You can do this by printing a network configuration page from the printer’s control panel.

3. Update Printer Firmware and Drivers Update the firmware on an HP printer

  • Firmware: Visit the HP support website to check for any firmware updates for your printer model.
  • Drivers: Ensure you have the latest drivers installed. You can download the latest drivers from the same HP support website. Select your operating system to get the correct version.

4. Check Print Queue

  • Open the print queue on your computer:
    • On Windows: Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers. Right-click on your HP DeskJet 4155e and select See what's printing.
    • On Mac: Go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners. Select your printer and click on Open Print Queue.
  • Clear the Queue: If there are multiple print jobs pending, cancel all of them. Sometimes a stuck print job can block the queue.

5. Check for Paper Jams and Ink Levels

  • Paper Jams: Open the printer and check for any paper jams. Remove any jammed paper carefully.
  • Ink Levels: Ensure that the ink cartridges are properly installed and have sufficient ink.

6. Run HP Print and Scan Doctor (Windows)  HP Print and Scan Doctor

  • Download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor tool from the HP support website. This tool can diagnose and fix many common printing and scanning problems.

7. Set Printer as Default

  • Ensure that your HP DeskJet 4155e is set as the default printer on your computer:
    • On Windows: Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers. Right-click on your printer and select Set as the default printer.
    • On Mac: Go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners. Select your printer and right-click (or Control-click) to set it as the default.

8. Reinstall Printer

  • Sometimes, uninstalling and then reinstalling the printer can resolve persistent issues:
    • On Windows: Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers. Right-click on your printer and select Remove device. Then, reinstall the printer using the drivers from the HP website.
    • On Mac: Go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners. Select your printer and click the - button to remove it. Then, click the + button to add it back.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
