Until now, I've had no issues with this printer.  Now, when I try to print an email from gmail, the fax function of the printer engages and asks me to enter an addres for a fax.  I can print Work documents with no issue.  I've tried all sorts of troubleshooting, to no avail.

Hi @stroseli,

Welcome to the HP Forums! 🙂
I would like to take a moment and thank you for using this forum, it is a great place to find answers.

As I understand that you are trying to print an email using a Gmail account and fax function comes asking you to enter the address.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, however, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details.

Which browser are you using to print from Gmail?

Just to check the printer hardware functions are fine, make a copy using the standalone printer.

This could happen if you don't select the right printer while printing.

You can run the HP Print and Scan Doctor which will set the right printer as a default printer.

Click here to download the HP Print and Scan Doctor.

If the issue persists uninstall the printer software and driver and install the latest full feature software from here.

Keep me posted with the results.

To simply say thanks, please click the "Thumbs Up" button to give me a Kudos to appreciate my efforts to help. If this helps, please mark this as “Accepted Solution” as it will help several others with the same issue to get it resolved without hassles.

Have a great day! 🙂
